Sam always has to wear big clothes, sweaters, clothes covering up to her neck whenever she’s in public. Her father fears what will happen if anybody finds out so Sam is always isolated from the world, being homeschooled. Now of course Sam can’t be isolated at home forever one of these days Sam will have to face the world for who she is. Come and read the journey of Sam as she embarks on the new world.

Thank you for once again exploring the different stories our writers have for you this week. We have a very diverse selection of topics ranging from the Sackler's role in drug abuse, to a close-up of the pros and cons of Animation vs. Live-Action, to a short motivational story of Thomas Edison. Please enjoy these well thought-out stories by our hard working Orion students, thank you.

One day Rwhen Thomas Eddison came home from school, he gave a letter from his teacher to his mother. The teacher told him specifically that it was only to be read by his mother. However, his mother read the letter aloud, her eyes were tearful, “Your son is a genius, this school is too small for him, and he doesn’t have enough good teachers training him. Please teach him yourself.” So, that’s exactly what his mother did, she taught him reading, writing, and math in homeschool.

Animation vs. Live-Action

Hello everyone, today we will be talking about Animation vs. Live-Action. In this article, we will be talking about the pros and cons between Animation and Live-Action to see which is the best out of the two or are they both a tie. Now let’s jump into the debate.

Animation

Screen Shot 2022 01 20 at 5.08.51 PMThe art or process of making movies with drawings, computer graphics, or photographs of static objects, including all techniques other than the continuous filming of live-action images.

Pros

  1. You don’t need to worry about objects looking fake because different art styles allow room for unusual interpretations of reality. So if a character has overly drawn ears, it's not flagged for taking viewer's attention away from the show's plot.
  2. You don’t need actors to make your characters (except voice acting) you can literally design your own characters.
  3. A lot of studios/companies are in demand for animators.

Cons

  1. It’s TIME-CONSUMING. You’ll take hours just to make a millisecond of screen time.
  2. With that, this job can be very pressuring, especially when you're on a deadline.
  3. You're going to work for someone else, hence certain personal art styles of yours will be restricted.
