AP Physics 1 honors covers all of the material outlined by the College Board as necessary to prepare students for college physics. This course is designed to acquaint learners with topics in classical and modern physics. The first part discusses topics in Newtonian mechanics including: kinematics, laws of motion, work and energy, systems of particles, momentum, circular motion, oscillations, and gravitation. The first part  concludes with topics in fluid mechanics, thermal physics, and kinetic theory. The second part of the course  discusses the topics of electricity and magnetism, waves and optics, and atomic and nuclear physics. The course emphasizes problem solving, and there are numerous interactive examples throughout. Learners will also gain laboratory experience through interactive lab simulations.
