The Warrior Chapter is Continuing their Scholarship Fund for 2023-2024

The Orion High School Chapter of the National Honor Society started a scholarship fund four years ago in order to award one or more graduating members with financial assistance as they enter higher education.  NHS members provide community service in their local communities across the USA and around the Globe.  Part of membership is community, and another part is scholarship.  This is a learner lead organization and a learner lead project.  The goal is to provide a scholarship through a process determined by the local chapter.

The scholarship was last to Sara Owens, who was our NHS President, and was also the founding president of the Orion High School Student Council.  Sara's scholarship award was 1000.00, thanks to the generosity of all who donated to our fund.

The scholarship(s) will again be awarded to a member who is in good standing, and who will be attending a two-year or a four-year college or university, working toward an undergraduate degree.  We appreciate any donations that you can assist with!  We invite you to give to this worthy scholarship!

About the National Honor Society

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921.

Today, it is estimated that more than one million students participate in NHS activities. NHS chapters are found in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, many U.S. territories, and Canada. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.

The Orion High School Warrior Chapter of NHS started in 2008 and our members have been serving local communities across the United States and around the world ever since!

The Warrior Chapter is lead by Chapter President Esther Hernandez, President, Katy Henley, Secretary, and Kiana Hoehne, Parliamentarian..
