My name is Brian Gardiner. The edit is of my 13 year old ski season(2012-2013). I ski at Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid New York for the New York Ski Educational Foundation(NYSEF). I am a freestyle athlete, and compete in Moguls, Slopestyle, Big Air, and Rail Jam. In the summer I train at the Olympic Training Center ramps in Lake Placid. Last summer I learned cork 7, cork 9, flat 3, misty 5, and misty 7. This year I took all of them, except misty 7, to snow.

A lot of people helped me this year. I couldn't have done it without them. First off I want to thank my coaches. They taught me a lot this year and that all led to me doing very well in USSA and USASA competitions. Thanks to all of the companies and shops that helped me out this year. Rossignol for helping me out with bindings, Maui North with getting a pair of Rossignol Scratches shipped in and mounted within 3 days, and Suburban Ski and Bike Shop for helping me out with my Full Tilt boots. Also Whiteface Mountain purchased an Air Bag that allowed me and the other NYSEF skiers to practice what we learned in the pool prior to taking the tricks to the snow.

My goal for my next season is to continue to land bigger and better tricks. This summer I'm working on a dub cork 10 at ramps and once we get back to the Air Bag in early December, the trick I am most eager to learn is a nose-butter cork 10. Also, I'm hoping the Whiteface park crew will have an up box long enough for me to train a misty 4 safety off the box.

For competitions next year I will continue on the same path that I am going on now. Mostly do USSA competitions with a goal of finishing top 3 in Slopestyle, Big Air, and Overall (Slope/Air/Moguls). Also, I hope to do enough USASA events that I will qualify for Nationals. If I qualify for USASA Nationals my goal would be to come in top 20 in the 13-15 age group for Slopestyle.
