Yes. Learners who have not been in contact with mentor(s) for two weeks in a row will be suspended from Orion High School, until communication is made.
Late payment, or non-payment of tuition, can also be cause for suspension. Suspended learners must pay a reinstatement fee in order to begin courses anew.
To take a one month leave of absence, you must apply before the 15th day of the month. Orion learners are entitled to a one month leave of absence twice during the course of one year without it affecting your status at Orion. For the two months a year you take a leave of absence, your tuition is not due (applies to monthly tuition only).
No, learners may start at any time during the month. If a learner starts from the 1st to the 15th day of the month, the learner is considered a starter for that same month's start date. If a learner starts on the 16th day of the month, that learner is considered the following month's starter. The start date is important since Orion gives learners two months to complete courses.
Once learners have started, all newly requested courses start on the 1st day of the month.
Yes. You can create your own user name and password, then log in. When you log in, click on Learner Center button, then on the link, 'go to class', which will take you to the classrooms area. In the classrooms area, you can go to the Orion Course Catalogue, where you can self-enroll into the Orientation and Induction Course. Remember, though, that course content is only 1/3 of the equation at OHS.
Student Identification Cards may be purchased from the OHS Store found under the left navigation tabs on the Learner Center page. The IDs are valid for one calendar year from the learner's start date, and must be renewed each calendar year. The IDs are optional.
