FAQs - Tuition and Fees

Information about OHS Tuition and Fees

Annual Tuition is $1950 - Annual tuition at Orion means one calendar year from the time you start until one year later (for example - October 1 - October 1), or 10 credits, whichever comes first.  With annual tuition, learners begin with one course, then they request a new course each month throughout the calendar year.  Orion's policy is that learners may have a maximum of 2 courses going on at any one time during a term (a term is two-months).

Monthly Tuition is $315.00 - Monthly tuition is due on the first day of the month, and late on the 10th day of the month.  A late fee of 25.00 is applied to bills unpaid after the 10th day of the month.  To begin at Orion, the first month's tuition is due plus a one-time $100.00 set-up fee for the monthly payment plan.  Learners begin with one course, then they request a new course each month.   New courses are approved between the 27th day of the month and the 1st day of the month. Orion's policy is that learners may have a maximum of 2 courses going on at any one time during a term (a term is two-months).

Some learners may receive a discounted tuition rate, based on need, and through advising during the admissions process.

Yes!  You may take one course at OHS, and transfer that back to your public, private, or home school.  Or, you may just take one course, just because!  A credit transfer course is one full credit, and lasts two months (with the 1st day of the month being the start date).  Credit Transfer learners must still attend the orientation course before beginning credit transfer courses.

Orion High School's diploma eligibility requires new learners to take a minimum of 25% of the credits (out of the total required), at OHS. Typically for learners coming under this eligibility requirement, must take give credits, including the Senior Project.  Orion guides learners over time to acquire the skills necessary to complete a culminating project at the end.  Some learners who lack additional credit requirements in core content areas may be required to complete those prior to completing the culminating project.

The payment of $315.00 per month is the only payment plan.  The alternative is to pay the one time amount of $1,950.00 for the courses taken during a one year period of time.

Some learners may qualify for a lower monthly tuition amount - that is discussed with the learner individually during the admission process.

If a learner withdraws within the first 10 days of beginning coursework at Orion, the learner is entitled to full tuition refund.  All other tuition options are a tuition agreement for the length of time of enrollment.  If extenuating circumstances arise, Orion will work with the family to assist in any way possible, especially when Annual tuition has been paid. Orion may work to provide a pro-rated rate.
