Welcome to Orion High School!
(Midland, Texas – February 1, 2010) – Dr. Joseph Gallegos, CEO of Orion High School, announced today that Orion High School earned accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI), an accreditation division of AdvancED. This action was taken at the AdvancED Accreditation Commission meeting held last week.
SACS CASI provides nationally-recognized accreditation, the purpose of which is continuous school improvement focused on increasing student performance. To earn accreditation, schools must meet SACS CASI’s high standards, be evaluated by a team of professionals from outside the school, and implement a continuous process of school improvement.
“Accreditation demonstrates to our students, parents, and community that we are focused on raising student achievement, providing a rich, online learning environment, and maintaining quality mentors to further our mission of being the premier high school in the country and abroad,” stated Gallegos.
SACS CASI accreditation is recognized across state lines, which not only eases the transfer process as students move from accredited school to accredited school but also assures customers that the school is meeting nationally accepted standards for quality and successful professional practice.

Profile in Resilience: Roxanne Williams

For Roxanne, Graduation was a Must
My name is Roxanne Williams and I was brought into this world on December 20, 1985. I have two older brothers and an older sister. As a child I really never had a relationship with my father or my mother or ever really knew them due to drugs. My other siblings and I went to live with my grandmother which is my father’s mother. Around this time I was four years old. We had to live with my grandmother because my parents were on drugs at the time so they were unable to care for us.
